It's aged in concrete tanks and big wooden casks so you're not getting the taste of new oak. The producer Chapoutier is one of the big names of the Rhone, producing high quality wines across the range. It's unusual to see a mature Chateauneuf-du-Pape at this price so hurry as it's unlikely to be around for long. Decant just before serving with big meaty dishes. You won't be disappointed.
