This Creme de Peche de Vigne Sanguine is made with macerated blood vine peaches (vigne sanguine means blood vine in case you were wondering) which are named after their red-coloured flesh. It might sound a bit morbid, but these small peaches are highly sought-after. The trees were often planted alongside grape vines to alert growers to signs of powdery mildew, and provide food for workers during the harvest. The small fruits only last a few days once picked, and so this creme de peche is made with freshly harvested peaches. A peach liqueur for connoisseurs this one.
