Dumbarton 22 Year Old 1996 (Master of Malt) Grain Whisky

Dumbarton 22 Year Old 1996 (Master of Malt) Grain Whisky

70cl / 46.80% - The Lowland-based Dumbarton distillery was founded in 1936 by legendary distiller Hiram Walker to produce grain whisky reserves for Ballantine's blended whisky. The distillery was famously home to a gaggle of around 100 Chinese white geese, introduced by Walker to protect it from intruders, it became known as the 'Scotch Watch'. Sadly, Dumbarton closed for good in 2002, but its legacy lives on in independent bottlings, like this one, and the remaining geese were retired, joining an existing flock at Glasgow Green. This 1996 vintage single grain Scotch, matured for 22 years in a refill barrel before joining our own exclusive Master of Malt collection. A release of 95 bottles.
