Lindores Abbey Thiron 2024 Single Malt Whisky
70cl / 49.40% - Lindores Abbey Distillery has launched the first bottle in an annual series of limited releases celebrating its historic ties with the abbey at Thiron-Gardais.The medieval abbey in southwest France is the mother abbey of all Tironensian abbeys, including Lindores. This release marks 833 years of connection between Lindores Abbey and lAbbaye de Tiron, where Friar John Cor, a Tironensian monk from Lindores, was famously ordered to make aqua vitae for the king in 1494. Lindores Thiron 2024 is aged in red wine barriques, bourbon casks, and French virgin oak from the Thiron-Gardais area. The brand planted oak trees in the region to replace those used for the casks. The single malt Scotch whisky was bottled at 49.4% ABV, non-chill filtered.
