Penderyn Copperopolis (Icons of Wales) Single Malt Whisky
70cl / 46.00% - The 12th instalment in Penderyn's Icons of Wales series celebrates the copper-coated history of Swansea. It's reported that from 1720, 50% of the world's copper and 90% of the UK's copper was smelted in the area, and thus it became known as 'Copperopolis'. This Welsh single malt was treated to a finish in sweet red wine casks for a rich, fruity profile, supported by balanced oak and spice. Penderyn opened its third Welsh distillery in Swansea in 2023, housed in the powerhouse of the old copperworks building, which makes this release very fitting indeed.
