Solar Reserve 55 Exceptional Caribbean Rum Blend Dark Rum
70cl / 43.00% - This blended rum from Solar features a combo of spirits from the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. Column-distilled rums aged three to eight years from Dominican distillers, Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos, are joined by a three-year-old pot still rum from Jamaica. The name of the renowned Jamaican distillery isn't disclosed, but the folks at Solar inform us that it's located in Lluidas Vale, which ought to ring some bells among the rum community. The blend is then enriched with a portion of Solar's eight-year-old Dominican rum, bringing complexity and depth to the characterful layers of caramel, vanilla, and tropical fruit funk.
