70cl / 60.30% - This 2017 vintage Annandale bottling of Man OWords single malt (its unpeated whisky) was bottled in 2023 after maturation in a single bourbon cask (#1048). Specifically, this cask is a refill bourbon barrel. 'Fresh bourbon barrels will have previously held bourbon, and nothing else, and so have significant flavour to impart. But a refill barrel will have held bourbon, then another whisky (usually Scotch). At Annandale, the second-fill comes from an American whiskey called Early Times. This is because the oak character is less dominant and allows the true character of its distillate to shine.
