The Inspector General
When exiled from a traveling band of gypsies, Georgi (Danny Kaye), escapes to a nearby town. Upon arrival, the town's corrupt mayor and counselors mistake him for the Inspector General, who has been traveling in disguise to investigate corruption in the kingdom. While the mayor and council make attempts to assassinate him, the kindly townspeople are on Georgi's side.
