Born in France, Maud Laforest started playing the guitar at the age of 4. In 1996, she settled in Texas, where she studied at SMU with Robert Guthrie and later moved to Baltimore to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory, from where she holds a Bachelor and a Master of Music in Guitar Performance.
