Love Sauvignon Blanc? Try this expression from South Africa. Thelema, founded in 1983 in Stellenbosch by Gyles Webb, is known for producing some of the country's best Cabernet Sauvignon. In the early 2000s, it established a new project focused on producing a range of small-scale, cool-climate wines in Elgin. Called Sutherland Vineyards, the site is just 9km from the Atlantic Ocean with cooling breezes providing the ideal environment for growing aromatic varieties like Sauvignon Blanc. Bright and aromatic, expect grassy gooseberry flavours, zesty lime, bell pepper and a fresh mineral streak. Pair with fresh seafood and even salads.
