Sartori Reius Amarone 2020
Sartori di Verona is one of the most historic wineries in Valpolicella, dating back to 1889. They still use traditional techniques practised in Valpolicella like drying methods that impart unmistakable aromas, colours, and flavours to Amarone, Recioto, and Ripasso styles. This wine is made from a blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Croatina grapes which are dried for three months. They are then pressed and fermented in stainless steel followed by 12 months in concrete tanks. The wine is then transferred to oak casks for at least three years. This Amarone has intense aromas of red fruit jam. It's velvety smooth and full-bodied with hints of spice on the finish. It makes for a great pairing with rich cuisine like strongly flavoured meats and aged cheeses.
