Bacchus, England’s fourth most planted grape behind the Champagne trio, is often hailed as the nation’s answer to Sauvignon Blanc. This wine has intense aromas of gooseberry, elderflower, and lime zest with subtle smoky notes from maturation in 228-litre French oak barrels for seven months. The palate is crisp and dry with flavours of green apple, citrus, and flint with a mineral-driven finish. Exceptionally versatile, it pairs beautifully with shellfish, sushi, pea and mint risotto, or roast chicken.
