Isle of Raasay 'The Draam' Hebridean Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl
Nestled off the coast of Skye, the Isle of Raasay Distillery has quickly established itself as a pioneering force in the whisky world. It has already been named Best Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Whisky Awards and Craft Producer of the Year at the 2025 World Whisky Awards. Founded in 2013 by Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day, the distillery set out to create Scotland’s leading artisanal whisky producer, with a focus on local production, quality, and doing things differently. Everyone who works at the distillery lives on Raasay, a small island of just 161 people, proudly referenced on the back of every bottle. The Draam is the distillery’s signature single malt. Lightly peated with rich, dark fruit flavours, it was first introduced in 2021 and officially named The Draam in 2025. The recipe, created by Master Distiller Alasdair Day, brings together two Raasay spirits — peated and unpeated — matured separately in six cask types: first-fill American rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak, and Bordeaux red wine casks. These elements are married to create a whisky of real elegance, complexity and depth, with every drop distilled, matured and bottled on Raasay using water drawn from the distillery’s 60-metre well. Expect flavours of wood smoke, cherries, blackberries, cinnamon, black pepper and vanilla.
