Klet Brda Villa Brici Merlot 2024, Western Slovenia
This Slovenian Merlot bursts with vibrant flavours of mixed berries and ripe red plum, layered with a hint of sweet spice and a touch of savoury depth. Carefully fermented at cool temperatures to capture its fresh fruit character, the wine was aged for nine to 10 months in a mix of stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels. The use of larger barrels lets the wine’s components, including tannins, meld and soften gracefully, without overwhelming it with oak influence. It’s a smooth, well-rounded red with a perfect balance of freshness and complexity.
