Quinta da Giesta Encruzado Reserva
This full-bodied white is wonderfully complex, with aromas of stone fruit, struck match, and butter. The palate is fresh but with a pleasing waxy texture and a long-lasting finish. The grapes for this wine had a period of skin contact prior to fermentation to enhance aromatics and provide some grip. The wine was then fermented in new French oak barrels and aged for a further six months with regular lees stirring (bâtonnage) to better integrate the flavours of vanilla and bread dough.
